Time sure flew by

I can't belive that the football season is almost over :(  I am so sad !  We seemed to be a quite bunch this year, guess we were all busy making projects, and some of us lucky ones, got to actually go to football games.  Well congrats to everyone who is making to the playoffs, good luck !  I haven't had that much luck, although I am in 2 other leagues and I did make it to the first round of the playoffs, and I can't believe how excited I am (Like I am really playing in the game LOL).

Oh well, great project everyone has been working on, I have been slacking away from crocheting for awhile but I started making quilted Christmas ornaments.  I was wondering if anyone would be interested in them in either their favorite football team colors, or actual NFL fabric (if I find it somewhere).  If you want to take a look at my site and just give me your honest opinion, I was thinking if people seemed interested I would make them for next year.  So if you really wouldn't purchase one, let me know so I can get some honest feedback....

Thanks everyone in advance R Craft Cottage.

Good luck again this week to everyone !

Eleventh Hour Contest...

Hello, ladies! I hope everyone's season has gone well. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to really participate in the league this year, and I was really looking forward to it. I've also been meaning to award a prize one of these weeks; and since Vera has told me that this is THE last week, I guess this is the time to do it. :o)

I have two pretty hanks of hand dyed merino wool (Monarch from angoravalley.com), to go to whoever has the best overall average (point-wise) for a Running Back for the entire season.

Here's one of the skeins; I believe this colorway is called Woodland, and the hank is 375 yards.

And thank you to Cathi and Linda for the yarn and note cards! I can't wait to use everything.

Good luck this week!

Thank you, Dana!

I am so sorry that this is late, but I want to thank Dana for the awesome Mug Boss and the adorable tape measure to go with it... since I was 6th Best!

It is really so cool, and I have it all set up in the office (and my camera batteries are dead... go figure!)

THANKS AGAIN!

Whew!

Thank goodness I live in a "home market" and will be able to see a local broadcast of tonight's game!  It's dicey for my brother, and a definite NO for all three sisters -- one lives in far NW Wisconsin and the other two in or around Madison.  I don't even want to talk to my BIL in Madison 'til it's over -- he's so angry.  But, wow, we've got it good in Wisconsin -- 1/3 of the state and Michigan's U.P. will see the game -- compared to Texas, based on the map they showed on our local news last night -- if you don't live in Dallas you're out of luck!

So, I've had reason to crow over the fact that I've raised three girls and all three show at least some interest in the knitting.  Well, I have also raised one through-and-through football fan -- don't worry, there's still plenty of time to indoctrinate the other two.  I am just pleased as punch!  We watched the Thanksgiving Day game together and she reminded me about how annoyed she'd get at all my whooping and hollering and now she's doin' it, too!

Week 12 is Here!

Thanks Cathi!

Look at the lovely prize I received from Cathi for having the worst QB a few weeks ago.

Fantasy Football Prize

In addition to the cool HK memo pad and stitckers, I got some lovely STR yarn in G-Rocks and some Sock Pixie yarn in Eggplant.

Thanks so much, Cathi.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope all of you had a good Thanksgiving.  I spent mine quietly at my MILs and watched the Green Bay game.  I'm really looking forward to some good football today.

With a crazy week at work, I just tonight realized that I never calculated the winner from last week's contest. DUH!

Congratulations Adelle! She came in 6th place in total points last week. You are the lucky duck winner of the mug buddy.

Email me your address at charlietownmama yahoo. I'll get it in the mail tomorrow!

Yay! Prizes Rock!

Just because I have not said THANK YOU does not mean I am not grateful. I have spent the past few weeks studying for my "pimp exam:"

Preparing for Week 10

Can it really be that I am just one quarter away from winning my first contest EVER in the history of needle, hooks, yarn fantasy????  I am readying to shove off for slumber, but my latest check has me VERY hopeful!

In preparation for next week, I'll entice you with the following goodie for grabs:
Img_6797_2
It's a mug boss!  As the woman in the Black and Decker shop said to me, "Ummmm... that's cute and dainty, I suppose."  (However, I am not sure why my photo is cute and dainty.... click it for a bigger view)

Whatever it is, I love mine!  It's a toolbelt for any garden variety coffee mug, PERFECT for keeping needlework doo-dads at arm's length.  Scissors in one pocket.  Cable needles in another.  Stitch markers in the cup (hopefully some new ones, soon!).  Since I started using mine, I have yet to lose a cable needle - and I'm pretty notorious for losing them to my black hole sofa of death.

The team that comes in 6th place for total points next week gets the mug buddy.  In the event of a tie, the team with the lower scoring defense wins.

Oh, and sorry... the mug boss does not come stuffed with my doo-dads.  However, I have a smashing pink tape measure that I'll throw in for (ahem) good measure.

As for my knitting, I am elbow deep in holiday knits.... lots of felted bags (I finally did Market Squares, and finished a couple more mobius slings), some neck gaitors, a few Fiber Trends clogs... mostly repeat  knits that will get some love for little dough under the tree.  I am almost finished with the Stephanie Japel Cable Down Raglan, and have 4 skeins of Dream In Color Classy and the pattern for Wicked that my husband got me for my birthday last month... only after holiday knitting is complete.  Oh, and I am on sock 2 of Monkey from Tofutsies and am on heel flap 2 of Kiri.  Husband has finally asked for some socks from a skein of Jitterbug in stash, so I suppose I'll grant him his Christmas wish.  :-)
