I visited the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee on October 7-9. At the first session, on the first day, I started a sock project. I used my vintage Opal Tiger yarn, and US#2 DPN's. Here is the story of the Tiger socks!
There was a ball of yarn and a few little needles. Little was I to know, that within a day, this would become "a SOCK." Watch the transformation, and meet some incredible storytellers along the way.
At the end of the first session, you can see that Sock has started to grow. Watch, and you will see quite a sock transformation!
Thanks to Tim Jennings for taking the time to pose with my sock.
Sigh. I want to be a storyteller like Milbre Burch. She has such talent. I was mesmerized from the start. She paired with Gay Ducey in a storytelling session titled: "Because I said so: Stories of Mothers and Kids." What more can I say.
(And, look how happy she was to pose with Sock.)
At the end of the second session of storytelling, you can see that the sock is making great progress. Thanks to Gay for taking the time to pose with it as well!
Bil (Not with 2 L's, okay?) hails from West "by God" Virginia. He has been at the NSF for all 3 years that I've been able to attend. He would never be one to let the truth get in the way of a good story. If you get a chance to see him perform, do it.
This was Andy's first (but hopefully not last) appearance at the National Storytelling Festival. He was incredibly funny, and talented. (And just as cute as a button!) I do hope that he comes back next year!
I'm sure that you've heard of Bill Harley...
What a treat to hear him live, and have him take a moment to share in the progress of the sock's journey!
Donald Davis took a moment and posed with my sock! All of the storytellers were such good sports about this silly thing that I asked them to do!
