The holidays and weekend fun
There’s a Christmas meme going around but instead of that, I thought I’d just share a few links and things.
Santa Search
They proclaim they’re “the largest elf-edited Christmas resource on the Internet.” My favorite section is music, songs, & lyrics. Thanks to Holly for the link – she pointed out that if you go to “audio files” then choose “H” and scroll past all the Hark the Herald Angels Sings and Here Comes Santa Clauses, eventually you’ll come to How the Grinch Stole Christmas (Full Story). Try that one.
Make a Flake
Cut pretty snowflakes without using paper. Here’s one I just made, I’m sure ya’ll can do better:

And this is my favorite Christmas album:

More than an hour of holiday favorites and it includes the Christmas Waltz which is my favorite Christmas song. But I think Christmas – Baby Please Come Home is a close second - not on the Carpenters album and really, U2 does the definitive version in my book.
Don’t forget Knitting Pattern Central’s Christmas page.
No, I’m not casting on anything new. At least from those pages. But maybe some mittens. And that Tiger hat.
Does anyone remember Elf Bowling? I just loved their comments: "Who's your Daddy?!" A good time-waste if nothing else.
This weekend I’m washing fleece, knitting, and going to a Bengals game – this time thanks to my cousin Wyatt (his tickets) and my aunt Sheila (for thinking of me to use the extra ticket). Have a great weekend everyone!

Pretty cool post, Beth. Thanks for all the links, and the gorgeous snowflake........

I listen to the Christmas channels on accuradio.com . Nonstop holiday favorites even for Scrooges like me. :-)

That Carpenters CD and Andy Williams' Merry Christmas are my favorites!

When I was in the junior high choir, we sang "Merry Christmas, Darling," which, at the time, I had never heard before. After hearing Karen Carpenter, though, it is now one of my favorite Christmas songs.
Much better than Mariah Carey's destruction of "Oh, Holy Night," which should never be heard by human ears. Give me Pavarotti any time.

Send me a picture of the tiger hat, especially at a game! And I love elf bowling. And THANKS for that link to the Grinch.

Oh you're a Bengals fan - but since you like dogs you're not all bad *wink* (Broncos fan) Love the snowflake link and your snowflake is much nicer than the 4 I made.
Have fun at the game!

Have fun at the game. Oh I so love elf bowling. I have even plaid the 2nd version. It is way too much fun. Love the snow flake. I have never seen it before, it is way cool. Of course you will have to make the tiger hat ;)

Sounds like fun! My favorite Christmas CD is "Yule Be Swingin'" Louis Prima, Benny Goodman, Dean Martin, etc.

Heh, I actually thought of you first when I saw that Tiger Hat. :)

I'd love to see the finished hat -- especially at a Bengals game! Thanks for supporting Heifer international. And yes, I remember elf-bowling...
