Natural Habitat

Although the weatherdudes threatened us with rain for today, I boldly took a vacation day anyway. And it was beautiful for a change. Low 70s, a little breeze, some sun - what could be better?

I spent part of the day in the natural habitat of the knitter: the LYS!

My most local store packed up last week and moved to a more promising location. Today was the big reopening and my SnB group was among their first customers at the new place. I celebrated by buying yarn I didn't need. Afterward we had lunch and then Angela and I ventured even farther afield to another LYS (no web site) that we hadn't been to since they'd moved quite some time ago. I'm not particularly thrilled with the first store's move but this other one - wow! What a difference. I'll definitely go back. Here are the spoils:

The Great American Afghan book and some Noro with a coordinating solid because who doesn't love to whip up a felted bag occasionally?

Mud season continues here in Cincinnati. There are 4 different animal prints in this photo (dog, cat, raccoon, and deer).

And here are the dogs responsible for that part of the above photo:

Pflowers Eflowers

They know how to enjoy time outside! They're romping in this year's crop of Marsh Marigolds. They seem especially lush this year which I should have expected with all the rain we've had.

Now back to my knitting. How many projects am I allowed to have going again???

Comments

Looks like the pups had a blast in the marsh marigolds!

It really was a delightful day.

AND, the yarn that I bought at "One More Stitch"...I finally figured out what about it appeals so much to me. It looks just like cotton candy.

Pictures to come, along with pictures of sock FO's. :)

You may have them all going, knitting projects that is. The more the merrier.
You aren't kidding when you say mud season! All the footprints are very cool. Looks like the warm weather agreed with the dogs. The flowers are great. Totally worth all the rain.
You bought some lovely stuff at the LYS.

Thursday was so fun! Sorry about your most local shop, but now it is my most local shop. Now I'll be there and at Aglamesis every time I go to the grocery store.

You can never have too many projects at once. :)

As always, I'm stunned at your knitting output. Everything is lovely, especially your fur children.

Can you post a photo where you've labeled the prints? I swear I see a bear print!

Now there's brutal honesty...yarn I didn't need. Well, we do have to help support the LYS. Never seen marsh marigolds...interesting! Now on how many projects at one time? Well, I didn't know you were supposed to keep count. Does that count projects that are in eternal time out???

Yay for yarn shopping, even if you don't "need" it, Lovely colors.

We have the same muddy mess here. And the rain is coming your way, we just had a heavy shower come through with lightening and thunder. It is Spring.

Looks spring-y! The yarn looks great. Make me pull out my Kureyon for Kureyon-Chan from Stumbling Over Chaos.

I plan on going on Monday or Wednesday next week.. I think being between the Wine Store and Aglamesis Ice Cream makes the location grand...I can feed all my addictions in one stop.
