But not the one you might have been expecting:
I got it into my head that I wanted another pair of plain stockinette stitch socks so I jumped in. Partway down the leg I decided I wanted them to be more fitted around the ankle so I switched to 4x1 ribbing and I like the fit very well. The mate has been cast on and will be nice mindless knitting for my upcoming reading time. When I knit these again (and I will...) I think I'll double the number of ribbing rows at the ankle. Just this much is fine but I'm wondering if it could be even better. I don't want to get stuck in 2x2 ribbing hell though. I want them to remain stockinette stitch socks. That's the plan anyway.
What about the Jaywalker socks? I'm on the foot of #2 and will get it done eventually. Don't nag. ;)
For my reading time, in addition to sock #2 (whose yarn looks slightly Slytherin-like, don't you think?) I also have my Sunshine Yarns' Phoenix colorway wound and ready to go.
I'm buying my copy of The Book at my local grocery who claims to be selling it at 12:01 and I'm hoping that I can get in and out quickly and avoid all party-type activities. I think the Phoenix yarn is party enough.
And now the yarn I missed from the last post plus a couple...

There's some bright Opal Neon, Cider Moon Blizzard in Wildwood and Andromeda, and along the bottom is the first offering in the Yarn Pirate Booty Club called Rum Runner. (assuming everyone's received theirs by now and it's safe to show) I officially have so many wonderful sock yarns in my stash that I can't imagine which way to turn for my next sock. OK, that's a lie. I've got something in mind for the newest Loopy Ewe challenge.
And last is a bit of greenery from one of my neighbor's experiments. I think she's growing sunflowers in a pot. They might be sunflowers. Or a smallish variety anyway.
Happy weekend everyone!
